I feel like my meals have been on the "fly" lately. Plus - I am tired of all my 'usuals'. So I spent some extra time planning this week and visiting my new favorite recipe site. I only plan for dinners. I don't plan which day I will have what - I just wing it - it depends on what's going on for the day and what's quick if we are busy and so on....I'm also crockpotting a bunch of chicken because I know it's on sale at Safeway this week for 99 cents a lb. So here's what's cooking this week in no particular order!
Pork Pulled Sandwiches
Chimichangas Blancas
Steak Inspired Slow-Cooked Beef , Mashed Potatoes & Green Beans
Beef Stroganoff (with leftover Beef)
Chicken Tetrazinni
Hobo Bags (with leftover chicken or beef)
Pizza (Maybe Chicken Ranch Pizza with leftover chicken?)

I just love the name of your blog and want to explore how you came to it:) I host a weekly blog event called Crock Pot Wednesday and would love for you to consider linking your slow cooker recipes to this week's Mister Linky. ML is already up and waiting. Come check it out. There's a giveaway going on:)
ReplyDelete99 cents a pound is a good price for chicken? I'm a newbie to frugal grocery shopping which explains my silly question.
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I are unemployed so I'm always looking for ways to save, especially groceries.
Looks like your family is going to have some delicious meals!
Rona -Yes! 99 cents a lb is a great price for chicken - it's a breast on the bone though - which is why I always crockpot it and the meat just falls off the bone. If I'm buying boneless, skinless I try to spend only 1.59-1.69 a lb. Whole chicken I will buy if it's .59 to .69 a lb. Any other meats I try to stay $2 a lb or under. But I'm cheap!
ReplyDeletedarnold23 - Thank you so much for the invite - I will try and get in on your crockpot link!
